Seattle Basketball Courts

There are a large number of Seattle basketball courts, both inside as outside. Many Seattle basketball courts are part of the Seattle Parks System, while a number are also available at various schools in the Seattle area, both public and private. Finally, there are a number of indoor courts available in Community Centers.

Cascade Park Basketball Court

This single hoop and half court is situated next to the bathrooms in the Northeast corner of Cascade Park in the South Lake Union / Cascade neighborhood in downtown Seattle. While the lines on the court are disappearing, the hoop and court surface are in good shape.

Gilman Park Basketball Court

The basketball court (and playground area situated next to the court) was renovated in 2017, and you will find a single hoop with a semi circle playing surface, which is in great shape. Gilman Park restrooms are located nearby.

Golden Gardens Basketball Court

You’ll find this half court with a single hoop tucked to the Northern side of Golden Gardens bathhouse. Both the court and hoop are in great shape, and there is plenty of parking nearby, but during peak times in warm weather, parking at Golden Gardens can be downright impossible.

Green Lake Park Basketball Courts

Green Lake Park features 3 basketball hoops, with one full court and one half court, both of which are lined. The basketball courts sit adjacent to the Green Lake Community Center and the courts and hoops are in good shape.

Jefferson Park Basketball Court

Jefferson Park has a single lined full court with two basketball hoops. The court suface and hoops are in great shape, the basketball court is located just off Beacon Avenue South, just North of the driving range. There is a parking lot adjacent to the courts, however it fills up quickly with park visitors during popular times. A bathroom in the park is available a short walk away.

Ross Park Basketball Court

Located adjacent to the Ross Park playground, this small half basketball court has a single net in good shape and a smooth playing surface. Given its proximity to the playground, it’s not uncommon for the hoop to get a lot of use from younger children.

St Alphonsus School Basketball Courts

There are four hoops on two full sized courts. As of January 2022, one of the hoops is broken and unusable. While the basketball courts are on private property (St. Alphonsus School is a private school), the courts are available to the general public outside of school hours and special events - a sign on the fence says to stay out of the area during school hours. There is ample street parking around the courts, and no available public restrooms.

Webster Park Basketball Courts

There are 4 basketball hoops spread across one full court, and two half courts, and the concrete playing surface is in good shape. Webster Park playground sits adjacent to the courts, and you will often find toddlers making use of the area during the day; however there is generally enough space for everyone to get their fill of activities, whether it’s a basketball game or riding a tricycle.

Whitman Middle School Basketball Courts

Be aware, as of early 2022, these courts are in rough shape. There are 4 courts with eight hoops, however only six hoops are functional (there was a tree branch shoved in one hoop on the last visit). The concrete is uneven, with numerous cracks filled with grass throughout the courts. But if you live nearby and just want to shoot some hoops, then the Whitman Middle School courts may be all you need.

Woodland Park Basketball Court

Located across from the zoo parking lot, Woodland Park has a small half court with a single hoop. Both the hoop and the court are in good shape.
